Baker Boyer is the oldest independently owned community bank in the Pacific Northwest.  We are Eastern Washington’s trusted financial advisor, serving the Walla Walla valley, Kennewick, and Yakima communities, providing wealth management as well as personal and business banking services.

  • Paid Leave- 
    • 10 days* of Vacation time – The annual Vacation accrual increases by a day each year for the first 10 years, and an additional half day each year for the next 10 years, reaching the maximum Vacation accrual of 25 days at year 20.
    • 7 days* of Sick, Safe & More (SSMORE) leave- SSMORE accrues at a rate of 1.2 hours for every 40 hours worked. SSMORE is intended to meet sick and safe leave needs, but it can also be used for vacation or other personal leave.
    • 3 Revive & Renew (R&R) days – We understand the importance of unwinding and recharging, so these R&R days are loaded on the first of each year (prorated for new hires based on the quarter in which they’re hired).

About the Part Time Universal Banker Role:

Baker Boyer seeks a positive individual to engage and connect clients with services to best fit needs. Universal Bakers are encouraged to build lasting relationships with clients by providing friendly service to problem solve and/or execute requests in a timely and efficient manner. To be successful Universal Bakers will exemplify being a self-starter with a high degree of teamwork and interaction with fellow employees while performing a variety of duties related to paying and receiving transactions.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provides client service by receiving, paying out and keeping accurate records of all moneys involved in paying and receiving transactions including sale or processing of check cashing, receipt of deposits, and cashier’s checks and making corrections as needed.
  • Provides clients information about a variety of services pertaining to their deposit such as ATM, CD, IRA’S, Direct Deposit, safe deposit boxes, wire transfers, foreign currency, foreign drafts, eStatements, Debit Cards, Online banking, Bill Pay and including lending or investments needs as appropriate.
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of the Bank’s products, services, policies, procedures, and federal regulations.
  • Handles service issues and disputes by clients both on the phone and in person.
  • Provides direction of clients to other areas in the bank as necessary.
  • Maintains the security and confidentiality of Bank and client information.
  • Opens and closes the branch as needed.
  • Builds, retains, and expands internal relationships.
  • Assists fellow employees with a variety of customer banking situations.
  • Collaborates with colleagues in carrying out the Bank’s strategic plan.
  • Performs additional duties as requested.

  • May require assistance in coverage of other office positions intermittently.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent; and/or two to three years related experience.  General understanding of banking and/or financial services industry desired.

Physical Demands/ Conditions Requirements:

General office environment, bending, sitting and/or standing on feet in dress shoes for extended periods of time, extended use of computers, office and item processing equipment, hand eye coordination, manual dexterity, proficient at 10 keys, lifting boxes of coins up to 40lbs. Ability to display positive attitude and genuine listening skills with clients.  Efficient use of transaction processing systems.
