Job Title: Part-Time Counselor (Spanish-Speaking Required)
Hours: 15–20 hours per week
Location: Fully On-Site – Laurel House

About Laurel House:
Laurel House is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and empowering individuals and families experiencing domestic violence. Through safe shelter, counseling, advocacy, and community education, we work to help survivors build safer, healthier futures.

Position Overview:
Laurel House is seeking a compassionate and skilled Part-Time Counselor who is fully fluent in Spanish to provide trauma-informed counseling and advocacy services to program participants. This is an on-site position that plays a critical role in supporting our Spanish-speaking clients and ensuring access to equitable, culturally sensitive services.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing individual counseling, crisis intervention, and emotional support.

  • Completing client intake assessments and safety planning.

  • Offering referrals to internal and community resources.

  • Maintaining accurate case notes and documentation in compliance with agency standards.

  • Partnering with shelter and community-based staff to support coordinated care.

  • Participating in supervision, staff meetings, and required trainings.

Qualifications:

  • Fluent in Spanish (spoken and written) – required.

  • Experience in counseling, advocacy, social services, or domestic violence support preferred.

  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and cultural responsiveness.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and appropriate boundaries.

Schedule:

  • 15–20 hours per week

  • Fully on-site

  • Occasional evenings or weekends may be required based on program needs.
