Job Description

As a Part-Time Driver, you'll move vehicles where they need to go, whether that's on the auction lot, through the sale lane, or between customer locations. You'll help keep the operation running smoothly by parking and organizing vehicles, handling minor vehicle issues, and working safely with customers and team members throughout the day.

Work Schedule:

(Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday) or (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday) 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, No weekends.

This position will work no more than thirty (30) hours per week and are typically asked to work three (3) days per week.

Compensation:

Hourly starting hourly pay rate is $15.09. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

$500.00 Sign-on Bonus Pay after 90 days

Job Responsibilities:

  • Safely drive vehicles through the auction sale lane during auction events.
  • Move vehicles around the auction lot and transport vehicles to and from customer locations as needed.
  • Park, stage, and organize vehicles so they are in the right place at the right time.
  • Help locate vehicles and reposition them when needed to support daily operations.
  • Perform basic vehicle support tasks such as jump-starting batteries and adding air to tires.
  • Report vehicles that need fuel, repairs, or additional service.
  • Provide friendly and professional assistance to customers and coworkers.
  • Follow all company safety policies and help maintain a safe work environment.
  • Complete other duties assigned by supervisors to support auction operations.
  • May be asked to work additional hours based on business needs.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to Stand for prolonged periods of time (you will have regular breaks).
  • Lift 1-20 lbs.
  • Constantly enter and exit all manner of vehicle types.
  • Sit for prolonged periods of time (you will have regular breaks).
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, and climb.
  • Stand, walk, reach, talk and hear, vision abilities required to include close, distance, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

'Nice to Have' but we will train you as needed:

  • Basic mechanical skills such as, but not limited to: jump starting a car, adding air to a tire, and identifying fuel level in a car.
  • Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
  • Basic technology skills such as, but not limited to: using mobile devices and using two-way radios.

To be employed in this role, you'll need to clear a pre-employment drug test. Cox Automotive does not currently administer a pre-employment drug test for marijuana for this position. However, we are a drug-free workplace, so the possession, use or being under the influence of drugs illegal under federal or state law during work hours, on company property and/or in company vehicles is prohibited.

Work Environment:

Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Moderate noise level.
