As we continue to grow, we're looking to add a skilled technician to help maintain and support our fleet at our new St. Paul facility.Position OverviewAs a Fleet / Medium Duty Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet including small wreckers, medium-duty flatbeds, heavy-duty wreckers, semis, and trailers. This role focuses heavily on chassis, hydraulic, and towing systems rather than major engine or transmission overhauls.You'll play a key role in keeping our equipment safe, reliable, and ready to respond 24/7.Key ResponsibilitiesFleet Maintenance & RepairPerform general repairs and preventative maintenanceWork on chassis components and towing unitsInspect and repair brake systems (air & hydraulic)Service suspension and steering systemsMaintain lighting and electrical systemsHydraulic & Towing EquipmentRepair and replace hydraulic hoses, lines, cylinders, pumps, and valvesTroubleshoot PTO-driven hydraulic systemsService booms, winches, beds, wheel lifts, dollies, and tie-down systemsIdentify and correct hydraulic leaks and performance issuesInspections & ComplianceConduct routine safety inspectionsAssist with DOT-related compliance itemsComplete preventative maintenance documentationAdditional DutiesPrep vehicles for auctionAssist with vehicle releases during busy periodsOperate tow trucks only when absolutely necessaryQualificationsExperience as an automotive, diesel, or medium/heavy-duty technicianTow truck and hydraulic system experience preferredStrong mechanical and diagnostic skillsKnowledge of brakes, suspension, chassis, and electrical systemsNo major invasive engine or transmission work requiredMust provide own toolsValid driver's license (CDL a plus, not required)Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environmentWillingness to work evening or overnight shiftsPay & Benefits
