Job description

The Mary T Family of Companies is hiring for a part-time Trainer!
The Trainer is responsible for conducting in-person training classes in accordance with certification(s) or governing curriculum. They will develop competence and skill sets in employees to perform position duties efficiently and effectively in the workplace. They will train employees from multiple types of healthcare settings.
This position will be based on our main campus located in Coon Rapids, MN. The hours are part-time and no weekends are required! This position is a great fit for someone that is seeking regular part-time hours, is semi-retired, or likes to get out of town on the weekends!
Schedule:
  • Daytime, part-time hours, 8-12 hours per week (occasionally more)
  • Must have availability weekly on Wednesdays and Thursdays
  • Occasional availability on Tuesdays is a plus

Essential Functions and Basic Job Duties:
  • Facilitate training of personnel (including unlicensed direct care staff) in specialized subjects, such as Medication Administration, CPR, and other training as required.
  • Teach content and skills in accordance with established curriculum and learning objectives for the class
  • Utilize a range of instructional techniques, including technology, lectures, and demonstrations, to achieve curriculum goals.
  • Maintain a productive and disciplined classroom environment that encourages positive participation
  • Adapt teaching strategies and provide supplemental materials to support all student needs and learning styles.
  • Determine student competency using various evaluation methods, such as hands-on skill demonstrations
  • Complete necessary administrative tasks to maintain employee training records.
  • Collaborate with team members when needed to improve class content and training outcomes.

Requirements:
EDUCATION:
  • High School Diploma or GED with continued education commensurate with the training to be taught
  • Licensed RN, LPN or CMT preferred

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:
  • Certification commensurate with the training to be taught. CPR training certification is available upon hire.
  • Licensed RN, LPN or CMT preferred

EXPERIENCE:
  • 2 years of experience training health topics, preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
  • Ability to demonstrate and practice the principles of proper body mechanics for all physical activities
  • Proven ability to adapt and to learn new skills
  • Ability to communicate and demonstrate effectively
  • Ability to practice universal precautions, standards and facility infection control procedures
  • Knowledge of and ability to use position related equipment properly and safely
  • Basic computer skills

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Complete all position related training
  • Obtain and maintain required licenses
