Sales Associate Job Description

Your job duties include: 

  1. Create a welcoming environment for all our customers
    1. Greet all customers
    2. Acknowledge customer’s immediately if they’re waiting
    3. Always be positive and friendly with customers in all forms of communications!
    4. Build relationships with our customers – get to know their shopping interests and habits
    5. Determine customers’ needs
    6. Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and desires.
    7. Provide a five star experience for our customers
    8. Follow directions from your teammate in charge of the shift
  2. Product knowledge
    1. Identify customer’s needs first then identify what products of ours will fulfill their needs
    2. be able to explain benefits and features of our products
    3. demonstrate use and care of product if needed
    4. explain warranty of product if applicable
    5. recommend related accessories, games, collectibles 
    6. Stay current on gaming, electronic, movie, music, collectible, and trading card industries
  3. Process buys and sales with accuracy
    1. Ensure pricing is accurate when scanning products for sale 
    2. Communicate and enter all appropriate promotions
    3. Accept payment forms accurately 
    4. Test game systems, electronics, and smartphones while processing customer trade-ins using our in-house computer system and testing forms
  4. Complete the daily opening/closing checklists
    1. Take trash out to dumpster
    2. Clean, transfer, file and shelf inventory onto the sales floor with accuracy.  
    3. Make case covers, replace damaged cases, ensure cases and labels are in good condition
    4. Maintain a clean and orderly workspace – clean up your buys, clear counter area, wipe clean your workspace and registers each night
    5. Walk the retail floor – serve our customers
    6. Maintain the retail space – fill holes, ensure product is in the correct sections, ensure pricing is accurate, combine like items if sections are full, fill empty sections, re-stock beverages (FIFO), pick up trash, 
    7. Dust and clean counters and display cases nightly
    8. Dust display racks and clean bathrooms weekly
    9. Vacuum floor nightly, maintain vacuum
  5. Recognize security risks, potential theft situations and know how to handle them
  6. Assist with inventories, price-checks, re-models, projects as needed 
  7. Be on time for all shifts
  8. Be a positive team player!
