Job description

Gamer's Choice is a team of passionate gamers, creators, and innovators based in Queens, New York. What began as a small local shop has grown into one of the leading destinations for Trading Card Game players and collectors around the world. We're driven by a shared love for gaming and community, offering both an engaging online experience and a vibrant in-store atmosphere. Our mission is to be the ultimate home for fans to connect, compete, and celebrate the games they love. While Yu-Gi-Oh! has always been our foundation, we're expanding into exciting new titles like Pokémon, One Piece, Riftbound, and Disney Lorcana. Our Long Island City store serves as the heart of our community, hosting tournaments, events, and gatherings that bring players together both in person and online.
Role: A high-energy overnight livestream host streaming on Whatnot, showcasing TCG products, engaging viewers, driving conversions, and maintaining a fun, community-focused atmosphere. This role combines on-camera performance, sales execution, product prep, and stream operations.
Location: 34-09 Queens Blvd, Long Island City, 11101
Schedule: Overnight, Full-Time
*Our streams run nearly 24 hours a day; schedules are assigned based on operational needs and are subject to change.
Compensation: $20.00 - 35.00 per hour, depending on experience
Core Responsibilities:
-Stream Execution: Run live selling shows on assigned platforms, maintaining high on-camera energy and following necessary procedures and professionalism.
  • Host engaging, high-energy live sales events on Whatnot, showcasing and selling TCG products to a live audience.
  • Prepare and organize all products, technical equipment, and visual displays before each stream to ensure a seamless experience.

-Sales Performance: Own on-stream sales outcomes. This includes presenting products, creating urgency, driving bids, and converting viewers into buyers.
  • Use effective sales techniques to highlight product features, build urgency for limited-time or exclusive items, and drive conversions.
  • Track and analyze sales performance and viewer engagement metrics to improve future streams.

-Audience Engagement: Engage viewers in real time (chat, shout-outs, CTAs, simple games) while managing the pace and flow of a fast-moving stream.
  • Create a fun, welcoming, and interactive environment that responds to viewer questions, encourages participation, and fosters community.
  • Collaborate with the team to brainstorm creative show themes, promotions, and strategies to grow viewership and sales.

-Inventory & Fulfillment Prep: Prepare and break down shows, pull and stage inventory, move boxes up to 50 lbs, and accurately hand off sold items for shipping.
  • Prepare and organize all products before and after each stream, ensuring accurate handoff for shipping.

-Reporting & Compliance: Follow all SOPs and reporting requirements - update show recaps, sales/stream metrics, and basic data entry in Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Track and report sales and engagement metrics to inform future stream strategy.

Requirements:
  • Comfortable on camera with a charismatic, confident, and personable on-screen presence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets for data entry, inventory tracking, and reporting.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced, live-selling environment.
  • Physically able to lift and move boxes/products up to 50 lbs as needed.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong team player mindset.

Nice to haves:
  • Prior experience or strong familiarity with the Pokémon TCG.
  • Prior experience selling on Whatnot or other live shopping platforms.
  • Deep knowledge of TCG trends, collectibles market, and audience preferences.

  • 90 Days: Consistently meets baseline KPIs across assigned channels.
  • 6 Months: Owns at least one channel; meets or exceeds channel targets for revenue per stream and items sold per hour, while maintaining low operational errors in data entry and order handling.
  • 12 Months: Operates as a core streamer and positive team contributor - collaborates with other streamers, shares what's working, and brings ideas to improve future shows.
