Overview / Job Summary:
The Kitchen Porter/Dishwasher plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen during lunchtime service. This position ensures that dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools are properly washed, sanitized, and stored, allowing the kitchen team to deliver exceptional service to customers. The role also includes assisting with basic food preparation tasks and supporting smooth kitchen operations.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Sort, rinse, and load dirty dishes, utensils, and glassware into the dishwasher.
  • Add detergents and cleaning agents as required; monitor temperature for sanitization.
  • Inspect, unload, and store clean kitchenware properly.
  • Assist with simple food preparation tasks (peeling vegetables, portioning ingredients).
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, supply shortages, or maintenance needs.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and timely service.

Requirements
Preferred Experience & Skills:
  • Previous experience in dishwashing or a similar role preferred, not required.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
