Firefly Children & Family Alliance is currently seeking a part-time Family Support Specialist in Connersville, Indiana. In this role, you will work to provide guidance, direction and documentation of visitation for the families you will serve. You will be exposed to the Department of Children Services and the court system on occasion. You must be comfortable working evening shifts and/or weekends, and be willing and able to transport clients of all ages using your personal vehicle or the office vehicle.
You Will:
  • Family Progress - Monitoring and Coaching (70%)
    • Complete all required documentation
    • Oversee visits between children and their parents in our visitation offices or community
    • Help schedule visits
    • Coach collaboratively - maintaining a balance between teaching and serving
    • Provide education and support to youth/families
    • Assist youth/families in achieving their goals
    • Attend all required meetings
    • It is understood that each employee follows and follows the professional standards as outlined by your perspective professional degree, license or agency policy
    • Perform any other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the immediate supervisor
    • Communicate with multiple institutions related to youth/family matters
    • Provide transportation to youth/families
    • Attend court with clients and render recommendations
  • Service Plans / Goal Development (15%)
    • Create goals for each family
    • Review goals when needed
    • Work with other social welfare agencies
  • Reporting (15%)
    • Maintain case and agency paperwork according to standards
    • Prepare written reports for the Department of Child Services / Probation office within identified time frames
You Have:
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Some experience in a Human Services field preferred
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a valid driver's license and auto insurance with 6 or less points on driving record.
