Job Description
Normal Parks & Rec is looking for a youth Track and Cross Country coach.
The program runs Mondays and Wednesdays in the evening (6-7pm) from July 6 - August 5. Each week the program will focus on building stamina and developing proper running technique for youth athletes both on the track and in the grass for a cross country training. This five-week program works with young athletes ages 7-13 as they prepare themselves and dive into the world of running. The end of season goal will be to "compete" in a 2k with all group participants.
Duties/Essential Job Functions
-Create and follow weekly practice plans and goals
-Instructing groups of children (Ages 7-13) on running techniques, building confidence and stamina and becoming better athletes.
-Care of supplies and equipment provided by NPRD
Required Knowledge, Skill and Abilities
-Must be able to demonstrate proper techniques to participants
-Basic Knowledge in competition or cross country running
-Must enjoy working with young children
-Must be outgoing and able to lead
Desirable Training and Experience
Preferred age is 18 years and older. Exceptions can be made for applicants with prior coaching experience.
