Job description

Working in a team environment and exercising good judgment and discretion, the ID &
Campus Services Student Assistant is responsible for providing excellent customer service
to all students, staff, and visitors in the delivery of services supporting a successful campus
experience via in-person visits, inbound phone calls, and email. This job requires general
knowledge of policies and procedures and resource utilization in providing information,
direction and customer centric service. Rotating Saturday hours will be required.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
1. Promote one stop customer assistance, ascertaining customers need and providing general information regarding departmental services, University events, and wayfinding assistance in a Christ-like manner.
2. Maintain the information desk area, ensuring availability and security of all required supplies and equipment.
3. Assist in the production, use, and awareness of the campus ID card.
4. Respond appropriately to email, phone messages, and user questions; adhering to established policies and procedures.
5. Assist with monitoring lost and found items.
6. Complete projects and other tasks as assigned.
7. Support the efforts of major on campus events such as Move-In and Homecoming.
8. Become familiar with policies, procedures, and resources.
9. Work effectively as a team member.

Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled at Liberty University.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and follow instructions.
  • Experience in customer service/office work.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Must pass various background checks, including, but not limited to, a check at the time of initial employment
  • Individual must not be convicted of, or pled nolo contendere or guilty to, a crime involving the acquisition, use, or expenditure of federal, state, or local government funds, or be administratively or judicially determined to have committed fraud or any other material violation of law involving federal, state, or local government funds (CFR 668.14(b)(18)(i)).
  • Individual must not be in default on any federal student or parent loan
  • Ability to articulate and defend the unique Christian educational mission and vision of Liberty University and its subsidiaries to a wide variety of individuals and groups.

  • Currently enrolled at Liberty University.
  • Cash handling experience.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks.
  • 1-2 years' experience in customer service/office work.
