JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The Student Affairs Office at Penn State Greater Allegheny is looking for a dynamic and energetic individual to join the team. The Assistant Coordinator of Student Engagement is a part-time position serving in an on-campus capacity. They are responsible for supporting the cocurricular experience of students including working with student organizations, providing involvement resources and leadership opportunities, and developing campus programming.

Job DutiesResponsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assist with all aspects of recognized student organization (RSO) management, including annual organization registration and the new student organization process, providing student organization trainings, implementing and enforcing RSO policies and procedures, and providing RSO leaders with consultation on their operations.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of an RSO manual outlining all policies and procedures for student groups.
  • Assist in the recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of the Campus Activities Board leadership and oversee the group in their planning of campus programming.
  • Plan, implement, and assess campus cocurricular programs and activities that meet the needs of a diverse student population.
  • Oversee publicity and promotion of campus cocurricular programs.
  • Manage and track an annual programming budget.
  • Assist in the management of the campus Fitness and Cultural Center, including the hiring and supervision of student staff, creating staffing schedules, and ensuring that equipment is maintained.
  • Assist in managing and promoting the use of Penn State's "Discover" involvement platform (Campus Labs' Engage software).
  • Support other strategic initiatives of the Student Affairs Office.
  • Participate in committees and task force groups.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualficaitions
  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Graduate students completing a master's degree in Student Personnel/Counseling or related area preferred.
  • Should possess thorough understanding of the role and purpose of student engagement as it applies to student development along with strong interpersonal skills, an ability to demonstrate follow-through, initiative, and attention to detail.
