What is a part time student teacher?

A part-time student teacher is an individual, often a college or university student, who is gaining hands-on teaching experience in a classroom while still completing their education. They typically work under the supervision of a certified teacher, assisting with lesson planning, classroom management, and instruction. Part-time student teaching allows students to balance their coursework with practical teaching experience, preparing them for a future career in education. This role is usually a requirement for teacher certification or licensure programs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time student teacher?

To thrive as a Part Time Student Teacher, you need foundational knowledge in education theory, classroom management, and the subject area you will teach, typically supported by enrollment in a teacher preparation program.
