Job Description
After School Care Program staff must enjoy working with school aged children/teens. They are responsible for:
  • Ensuring safety of all children in the program.
  • Creating an enriching, fun, and safe environment for children of all ages.
  • Planning activities for children of all ages.
  • Interacting positively with children and their families.
  • Working independently as well as with a team.

The candidate must have a positive attitude and serve as a role model to participants in the program. This position is ideal for someone who is willing to work a few hours in the afternoon, is creative, child oriented, responsible, and dedicated.
Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently be required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, feel with hands, reach with arms, walk up or down multiple flights of stairs, and be physically able to perform duties as assigned, including the ability to lift up to 20-30 pounds if needed.
  • Works in standard office and school building environments but also has ability to work outdoors during outdoor student activities.

Requirements
This person must be available to work after school:
  • Candidates must be at least 16 years old.
  • Protecting God's Children Certificate and Background Check required.
  • A background in education and/or college course(s) in recreation education is a plus but not required.
  • Childcare work experience with children of all ages is preferred but not required.
  • Other training may be required after employment begins.
  • This is a part-time, unbenefited position. Not to exceed 29 hours per week. Hours as determined by Principal.
  • After School Care meets Monday-Friday on regular school days throughout the school year when school is in session.

Hourly Range*: $15.00-$22.00
  • *Final hourly rate will be determined by relevant years of experience in a similar job combined with education and professional licensure.
  • Benefits*: *Dependent if working full- or part-time hours (30 or more hours will determine benefit eligibility).
