About Us:

Founded in 1968 to meet the post-secondary and continuing education needs of Cecil County residents, Cecil College has been serving the community and shaping its future for more than 50 years. The College is governed by a Board of Trustees appointed by the governor. The College’s fifth president, Dr. Mary Way Bolt, reports directly to the Board of Trustees.

Cecil College is centrally located in Maryland’s most northeastern county, just one half mile from Interstate 95. It is easily accessible from Philadelphia and Baltimore, as well as from Wilmington, Delaware.

With a diverse student population, Cecil College enrolls approximately 2,500 credit students and 3,400 non-credit students. Cecil offers associate degrees, certificate programs and non-credit classes. Cecil offers a variety of associate degree and certificate programs.

Continuing Education and Workforce Development at Cecil College is currently looking for a part-time instructor to teach an introductory course in solar panel installation. This instructor position provides ongoing classroom instruction and facilitation of an alternative and renewable energy curriculum to a class of adult learners. The curriculum provides an introduction to photovoltaics, including the fundamental principles of the application, design, installation, and operation of photovoltaic systems. The instructor will aid in the growth of this program by delivering classroom instruction through lectures and hands-on activities and training.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Documentation of students’ attendance and academic progress by giving and grading examinations and accountability standards.
  • Database proficiency and familiarity with timely data entry.
  • Interpretation of NABCEP curriculum and ability to effectively communicate learning objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Completion of an advanced training program or professional certification in solar technologies
  • Knowledge of alternative and renewable energy, tools, skills and ability to communicate in a classroom setting.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills
  • Professional attitude and a desire to help students succeed.
Desired skills/experience:
  • Prior teaching experience
  • NABCEP Certification
