DESCRIPTION 

Michael Baker Internationalis seeking to hire Part-Time Summer 2026 Interns work in the field in Kansas. This opportunity is open to all applicants seeking an Internship within the Geospatial discipline.In this Internship, you will get the opportunity to work with a team of seasoned GIS and Project Managers to assist on Indoor Mapping field collection projects with technical duties and daily activities.

Work will be conducted Friday-Sunday at approximately 20-40 hours per week. In order to be considered for this Internship, you must currently reside in the state of Kansas and have a valid US Driver's License. Travel expenses will be covered for those traveling within the State of Kansas. 

Potential project locations in Kansas that you may be asked to travel to for data collection are as follows: Coffeyville, Garnett, Parsons, Oswego, Cawker City, Beloit, Olpe, Neosho Rapids, Americus, Allen, and Olpe, amongst other potential locations within the state of Kansas.

In order to be considered for this Internship you must currently reside in the state of Kansas and have a valid US Driver's License. 

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Working toward an Associates or Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Geography, Science, or related field of study is required 
  • Focus in GIS, Geography or Environmental Practice preferred 
  • Software proficiency - GIS, Microsoft Office 
  • Excellent analytical skills 
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills 
  • Proficiency in organization and presentation of documentation 

COMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $18 - $22 per hour. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
