Job description

CLINICAL LEAD & THERAPIST

Walk With Me Counseling Center is seeking an experienced, independently licensed Illinois therapist to join our growing virtual group practice as a part-time Clinical Lead & Therapist.

This is an opportunity for a strong clinician who enjoys providing therapy and is ready to step into a meaningful, focused leadership role. You will maintain a part-time therapy caseload while providing clinical consultation, documentation oversight, and quality support to a small team of therapists.

This is not a full Clinical Director position. The role is intentionally focused on clinical care and clinical quality. You will not be responsible for billing, scheduling, intake, marketing, or day-to-day practice operations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Therapy

• Provide virtual psychotherapy to adult clients in Illinois.

• Complete timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation.

• Develop and update treatment plans based on client needs, progress, and medical necessity.

• Maintain clinically appropriate diagnoses and reassess diagnoses as additional information becomes available throughout treatment.

• Build a part-time caseload gradually based on referrals, availability, client fit, and scheduling needs.

Clinical Leadership

• Provide approximately one hour of weekly clinical consultation to therapists, including support with case conceptualization, treatment planning, interventions, complex cases, ethical concerns, and risk or safety concerns.

• Provide required documentation signatures for provisionally licensed therapists.

• Conduct a weekly random sample review of progress notes and treatment plans to assess clinical quality, medical necessity, and alignment among diagnosis, treatment goals, interventions, and documented progress.

• Review diagnoses and diagnostic codes as part of the weekly quality review and identify when diagnostic reassessment is clinically indicated.

• Provide clear, constructive feedback when documentation or clinical concerns are identified and follow up when needed.

• Serve as a clinical resource for complex, higher-risk, or ethically challenging cases.

• Escalate significant clinical, ethical, or safety concerns to practice leadership when appropriate.

Providing required signatures is separate from conducting an in-depth clinical quality review. The Clinical Lead is not expected to perform an in-depth review of every document before signing it.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Current, unrestricted Illinois LCPC, LCSW, or LMFT license required.

• Minimum of 3 years of post-graduate psychotherapy experience required.

• Experience providing psychotherapy to adults.

• Strong clinical judgment and case conceptualization skills.

• Strong knowledge of diagnosis, treatment planning, clinical documentation, medical necessity, ethics, and risk assessment.

• Ability to provide thoughtful, direct, and supportive clinical feedback.

• Strong communication, organization, and follow-through.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully virtual practice.

• Clinical leadership, supervision, consultation, or documentation review experience strongly preferred.

SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION

• Part-time W-2 position.

• Fully virtual.

• Approximately 2 to 3 paid Clinical Lead hours per week initially.

• Clinical Lead responsibilities are compensated at $50 per hour.

• Therapy services are compensated at $80 per completed therapy session.

• Caseloads are built gradually based on referrals, client fit, and therapist availability. A specific caseload volume is not guaranteed upon hire.

• Compensation is paid biweekly.
