Fall Internship Opportunity: State Campaigns Communications Intern (Part-Time)

Remote | 20 hours/week | Fall 2026 | $25/hour

Inseparable is committed to life-changing progress in mental health and substance use care for all Americans. Our resolve to reshape the public policies that govern mental health care takes us deep into states and communities where we see strong potential for change. This same resolve drives our advocacy for federal policies, funding and leadership.
We are seeking a State Campaigns Communications Intern for Fall 2026 to help support the communications work in our state campaigns efforts. Reporting to the State Communications Associate, this internship offers a hands-on opportunity for a college student eager to gain real-world experience at the intersection of mental health, advocacy and communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the creation of digital content for state campaigns, including social media posts, toolkits, fact sheets, and other advocacy materials.
  • Monitor, share, and archive press coverage of mental health policy and events in target states.
  • Assist with campaign collateral development, helping draft and package materials for partners and advocates.
  • Support digital research, outreach, and engagement, including monitoring online conversations and identifying opportunities to amplify messaging.
  • Contribute to rapid-response efforts as campaign needs evolve.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the broader campaigns and communications team.

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of effective social media content creation and digital storytelling.
  • Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn for advocacy and engagement.
  • Proficiency with Canva.
  • Strong online research skills.
  • Reliable follow-through and attention to detail in managing tasks and deadlines.
  • Flexibility and willingness to support a fast-moving, campaign-oriented team.
