Job description

What's an Internal Communications Lead at ezCater?

A storyteller. A connector. An exceptional communicator. As a remote-hybrid office culture, it's more important than ever that our team of 800+ across 40+ states stays connected.

We're looking for an internal communications rockstar to ensure that the right information reaches everyone, connections between people and departments are being made, and all of us are aligned to what's important.

Working closely with many partners across the business throughout ezCater, our Internal Communications Lead tells the ezCater story to employees: whether that's sharing company priorities, our product roadmap, or connecting people to our culture. But we don't want you to simply take our story and communicate it  - we want you to beat it up, challenge it, and, as the voice of our employees, create the internal narrative that will best resonate with our team. Not only should you have experience working with senior leaders, but you should have the confidence to challenge them and push them towards new ways of thinking.

What You'll Do:

  • Report to our Director, Communications and Content, within the Marketing team, and work closely with many stakeholders across the business.
  • Develop and lead internal comms initiatives that keep us informed and connected during rocketship growth.
  • Manage an internal comms editorial calendar, aligning with other business partners and using it to deliver communications relating to ezCater's business strategy and culture, people priorities, and change communication.
  • Figure out what we want and need to say, when to say it, and how to say it across internal channels (company meetings, email, Slack, events, Confluence).
  • Create innovative ways to communicate that inform and motivate employees by trying and tracking new channels, content, and media.
  • Be completely plugged in to every part of the business, building strong relationships in every department, and always seeking out the most inspiring stories. Share them in a way that best excites and engages the ezCater team across internal channels

What You Have

  • 7+ years of  communications experience, preferably leading internal communications for similar stage remote or hybrid companies.
  • Ability to translate business goals into a compelling communications strategy that is rooted in our business, people, and culture. You'll own that strategy, setting and achieving ambitious goals for the program.
  • Excellent communication skills - written, visual and verbal - and the ability to translate them into emails, presentations, speeches, etc.
  • Experience working with senior leaders and the confidence to challenge and guide the messages they deliver and the way they deliver them.
  • The agility to pivot and thrive in an ever changing environment, juggling competing tasks with exceptional organization.
  • Ability to travel up to 5 days per quarter for Together Weeks, team gatherings and other events, when applicable.

The national total target cash compensation range for this position, including base salary and bonus target, is $129,000-$164,000 annually.*

*Please note: Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise and region & may vary from the amount above. This range does not represent additional compensation benefits (such as equity, 401K or medical, dental or vision insurance).
