Job description

The Behrend-Adas Senior Fellowship is a daily lunch program of JSSA in partnership with Adas Israel open to the community that provides a hot kosher lunch as well as a variety of social, exercise, and educational programming for senior adults. The Program Assistant supports the activities of the program in the absence of the Program Coordinator with much of the work occurring at Adas Israel Congregation with senior adults. The Program Assistant will ensure that program participants have a safe, socially enjoyable, and educationally fulfilling experience. We are looking for a part-time Program Assistant up to 20 hours a week,
Essential Functions:
  • Set up the tables and food serving spaces
  • Serving food to participants
  • Wash minimal dishes
  • Manage the coordination of daily activities and classes for senior participants in the absence of the Program Coordinator
  • In collaboration with the program supervisor, help maintain all requirements of the Department of Aging and Community Living (DACL) grant
  • Keep accurate records for DACL including but not limited to intake forms, program attendance, nutritional information, and activity tracking
  • Maintain up-to-date CPR certification and SafeServe certificate
  • Maintain relationships with Adas Israel staff to ensure continued collaboration on the program
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education, Licensure, and Work Experience Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Outstanding oral communication skills; detail-oriented
  • Commitment to working in a fast-paced environment with an emphasis on collaboration with colleagues and clients
  • Experience within the social services space

Starting pay: $22/hour
