It's important to communicate your preferred hours and stay proactive in checking for available shifts to maximize your work opportunities.

What is a Part Time PRN Medical Coder?

A Part Time PRN Medical Coder is a healthcare professional who works on an as-needed basis to review clinical documents and assign standardized codes for billing and insurance purposes. 'PRN' stands for 'pro re nata,' meaning 'as needed,' so these coders typically fill in during busy periods, staff shortages, or special projects. They ensure accurate and compliant coding of medical diagnoses, procedures, and services, which is essential for proper reimbursement and record-keeping. Part time PRN coders often have flexible schedules and may work remotely, depending on the employer's needs.
