Job description

We are seeking a (Part-Time) Licensed Practical Nurse to provide support and assist Philadelphia County psychiatrists in coordinating the behavioral and physical health care needs of program participants. Assist psychiatrists with: insurance prior authorization process from completing the forms to notifying the participant when insurance approves; developing and implementing a system to ensure participants have prescribed laboratory tests including how to ensure psychiatrist receives and reviews the results; assist in the Clozaril clinic and work with other nurses in the clinic to facilitate an efficient flow of information from and to the psychiatrists; special projects to improve efficiency in psychiatric services.
To network with the community regarding the health care needs of participants and provide psychiatric nursing services consistent with physician orders and standard nursing practices. Function as a consultant and provide education to participants, non-medical team members, and the community.

Qualifications:
· Board Certified Licensed LPN in the State of PA.
· Prior experience in servicing community mental health facilities and their needs.
· Comprehensive knowledge of psychiatric clinical and psychosocial rehabilitation practices.
· Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; detail-oriented.
· Strong interpersonal skills; Team oriented; Very strong organization and analytical skills
· Must be available for scheduled emergency on-call service.

Scope:
· Frequent talking and listening.
· May require verbal crisis intervention assistance in emergencies.
· Must be available for local travel and possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
· Scheduling flexibility and possible on-call work are necessary.
· May be required to report to work during emergencies, including inclement weather.
