Job Summary:

Bechtel’s M&T Digital Solutions team is seeking a Power Platform Lead to own the delivery and evolution of Power Platform capabilities supporting multiple active capital projects. This role is responsible for leading a small team of developers, defining and governing the Power Platform operating model, and ensuring consistent, scalable delivery of digital solutions across projects. The Lead works directly with project teams, stakeholders, and functional managers to prioritize demand, architect solutions, and drive successful deployment and adoption of apps developed and maintained from the center.  A key responsibility of this position is establishing and growing a centralized repository of Power Platform solutions, components, templates, and deployment assets that can be reused across multiple M&T projects. The Lead will drive application standardization, governance, lifecycle management, and reuse to reduce duplication of effort and accelerate solution delivery across the portfolio. The position combines platform architecture, delivery leadership, and customer engagement, with accountability for both the quality of solutions and the effectiveness of the team delivering them.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of Power Platform developers (3 direct reports) supporting multiple capital projects.
  • Assign, prioritize, and oversee work across projects to ensure timely and consistent delivery.
  • Review solutions and provide technical guidance to ensure quality, maintainability, and alignment with standards.
  • Mentor and develop team members, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Own and govern the Power Platform environment across projects, including applications, connections, and integrations.
  • Define and enforce standards for application design, data models, naming conventions, and user experience.
  • Establish and maintain application lifecycle management practices, including environment strategy, version control, and deployment processes.
  • Manage and evolve a centralized repository of reusable applications, components, and templates to support scalability and repeatability.
  • Establish processes for evaluating, documenting, publishing, and maintaining reusable solutions within the repository.
  • Drive standardization and reuse across projects to reduce duplicate development effort and accelerate solution delivery.
  • Partner with project teams and stakeholders to intake, prioritize, and align digital solution demand across multiple projects.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of scalable, practical solutions that meet project and business needs.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for delivery issues, risks, and cross-project coordination.
  • Drive adoption of delivered solutions through stakeholder engagement, training support, and feedback loops.
  • Architect and oversee the design and implementation of Power Platform solutions using Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Guide development of rapid prototypes and minimum viable solutions to address project needs.
  • Oversee integration with Microsoft 365 tools (SharePoint, Teams) and enterprise data platforms, including Azure services and Databricks.
  • Enable intelligent automation and AI-driven capabilities within the Power Platform environment.Provide hands-on support for complex issues, troubleshooting, and critical deployments when required.   
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10  years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience. 6+ years of experience delivering solutions using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps and Power Automate).
  • Experience leading or mentoring developers and reviewing technical deliverables in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated experience architecting scalable solutions, including data models, integrations, and application structure.
  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize work, and deliver practical solutions.
  • Strong understanding of application lifecycle management, including environment strategy, version control, and deployment practices.
  • Experience integrating Power Platform solutions with enterprise systems, including Microsoft 365, Dataverse, and data platforms.
  • Proven ability to operate across multiple projects or workstreams simultaneously in a delivery-focused environment.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Experience supporting construction, engineering, or capital project environments (EPC preferred).
  • Experience establishing or operating within a governed Power Platform environment, including CoE, DLP policies, or environment management.
  • Familiarity with enterprise data platforms such as Databricks and their role in analytics and reporting.
  • Working knowledge of Azure services, APIs, and integration patterns supporting scalable solutions.
  • Experience driving reuse and standardization across multiple solutions or projects.
  • Experience enabling citizen development while maintaining platform governance and control.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled tools (e.g., Copilot) and interest in applying them to improve delivery and user experience.
  • Microsoft Power Platform certifications (e.g., PL-400, PL-600).Practical problem solver who can balance architecture, delivery, and stakeholder needs.
  • Comfortable leading in environments where requirements are not always fully defined or still evolving.
  • Strong communicator able to work directly with project teams, stakeholders, and functional leads.
  • Able to prioritize across competing demands and drive clarity in fast-moving project environments.
  • Willing to remain engaged through deployment, adoption, and continuous improvement of solutions.
  • Comfortable operating across multiple projects, including periodic time supporting field or construction site teams.
  • This position supports a hybrid work model, with a combination of remote work and time in the Bechtel Houston office location.
  • Periodic travel to project sites is expected (approximately 10–25%) to support project engagement, deployment planning, training, and go-live activities.
  • Work may include time in active project environments, including construction sites, to support stakeholder engagement and solution adoption.
