Organist/Pianist
Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Seneca, South Carolina
Position Overview
Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church seeks a highly skilled and collaborative Organist/Pianist to support the liturgical and musical life of the parish community. This part-time position plays a vital role in enhancing worship through sacred music rooted in the Catholic tradition. The Organist/Pianist works closely under the direction of the Pastor to plan and execute music for liturgies, sacraments, and parish celebrations.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Serve as principal organist/pianist for all weekend Masses and Holy Days
  • Provide music for major liturgies including but not limited to:
    • Christmas, Easter, and the Paschal Triduum
    • Ash Wednesday and solemn feast days
    • First Holy Communions, Confirmations, Funerals, and Weddings
  • Provide input regarding music selections for each liturgy
  • Stay informed about parish-wide events scheduled on the parish calendar to avoid

practice and rehearsal conflicts.
  • Work with parish staff to create the cantor schedule

Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in organ/piano performance and liturgical accompaniment
  • Familiarity with the Catholic liturgy and sacramental life beneficial but not required

Compensation
  • Salary: commensurate with experience and to be determined in dialogue with the pastor
  • Reimbursement for travel is offered and to be determined in dialogue with the pastor

Schedule:
  • Approximately 10 - 12 hours per week
  • Additional hours as holy days, weddings, funerals, etc. are scheduled
