Job description

We are currently seeking a Payroll & Pensions Administrator (part-time, flexible 18.5 hours per week with at least 1 day per week in the office) You will be using MHR's iTrent system, full processing of gross to net payroll for up to 2200 staff along with defined benefit pensions administration
You will assist the wider Payroll and Pensions team with the timely production of the University and its subsidiary payrolls, with particular focus on HMRC and its statutory deductions and payments, reconciliations and oversight of the monthly processing cycle. You will assist with the more complex issues and queries received by the team and will continually seek to improve processes and use of systems available to ensure efficient accurate payroll and pension's service to the university employees
You will also assist with testing and ensure results are reported on new functionality and upgrades of systems used by the Payroll and Pensions team, highlighting any risks or issues to Payroll and Pensions Manager or IT as appropriate. In addition, you will support the Payroll & Pensions Manager with the University's annual audits

Salary Grade 6  - Starting from (16,975 rising to 18,847 per annum) (33,951 - 37,694 pro rata) 
Part-time 0.5 role, 18.5 hrs per week.
     
The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay. Please note that our default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
