Job description

Harrison County Hospital is seeking a part-time circulating RN for the Surgery Department.

The circulating Surgical RN under the supervision and direction of the Surgical Nurse Manager, is an employee responsible for coordinating the care of all patients in the operating room, recovery room and out-patient areas. Is responsible for meeting the established surgical standards of nursing practice, for managing all assigned personnel, supplies and equipment in the operating room, recovery room and out-patient area and for promoting teamwork with physicians and personnel of other departments. He/she should be emotionally stable and mature, accurate, and flexible in his/her dealings with other people.

Position available:

  • Part-time, Days plus call, 16 hrs/wk
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • Graduate of an accredited college of nursing
  • Previous OR experience or in-depth orientation to department
SKILLS
  • Extremely organized
  • High level of professional judgment
  • Tact and diplomacy to deal with patient's family, physician and hospital staff
  • Possesses knowledge IV start and maintenance
  • Ability to perform IV starts and maintenance
  • Ability to accurately monitor cardiac rhythms
