Job description

Job Summary:
At SteelFab, our Project Managers are the driving force behind delivering exceptional results for our clients. As the chief representative for handling projects, you'll collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure every project is successful, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, vendors, design teams, and internal departments to ensure all communications are professional and clear.
  • Manage project financials and deliver optimal outcomes in cost, schedule, and quality.
  • Draft and review vendor subcontracts and purchase orders while coordinating with Estimating to meet project requirements.
  • Oversee customer subcontracts to ensure alignment with proposals and bid scopes, while promptly submitting and negotiating any scope, time, or cost changes as needed.
  • Coordinate drawing and document management through the Document Control department.
  • Approve vendor invoices, verify subcontractor billing accuracy, and ensure timely processing.
  • Prepare and manage monthly Work-In-Process (WIP) updates for financial reporting.
  • Lead job meetings (pre-detailing, pre-erection, internal sessions, etc.) while scheduling job deliveries to align with site requirements and deadlines.
  • Address and resolve RFIs from detailers and vendors.
  • Attend project meetings, including customer-required sessions and regular site visits.
  • Supervise approximately 4-10 active projects.
  • Travel to local and out-of-state job sites as required to support project needs.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve practices, procedures, and relationships with internal and external partners.

Qualifications and Requirements
Required: 3-5 years of construction and/or general contracting experience. Minimum 2-year associate degree. High level competency in Bluebeam, PDF's, Microsoft Project, Excel and Word, and common computer skills. Valid driver's license.
Preferred: 4-year bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related fields. Some experience in the construction or engineering industry through work, possibly internships or part time employment. Continuing education in project management training, organization, and leadership development skills is strongly encouraged.
