Job description

Brand New Assisted Living Community located in Montebello, NY seeking full time and part time medication technicians to join our friendly and warm team to administer medication to residents in accordance with State regulations. Experience preferred however we are willing to train the right candidate for a rewarding career in this field.

POSITION TITLE: Medication Assistant

SUMMARY: Assist with the self-administration of prescribed medications to residents in accordance with state regulations.

REPORT TO: Wellness Director\Medication Supervisor

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Dispense all prescribed medication as ordered by the physician.

• Maintain an accurate Medication Administration Record.

• Maintain and count an accurate Controlled Substance Record.

• Inform Administration of any change in a resident’s condition.

• Follow up with pharmacy to ensure in proper and expedited delivery of all medication.

• Monitor health, safety and well-being of the residents.

• Report concerns about residents to Administration.

• Identify supplies needed to perform tasks and report needs to Wellness Director\Medication Supervisor.

• Practice safety in working around and with equipment, chemicals, tools and utensils.

• Carry out other duties as assigned by Wellness Director\Medication Supervisor.
