Rate: $17.00 hourly

Type: Part-time, not to exceed 28 hours weekly


General Purpose
Performs various supervisory and stage hand duties involving the operations at the Florissant Civic Center Theatre


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the facility operations in the absence of full-time Assistant Theatre Manager.
  • Performs administrative tasks and ensures compliance with regulatory standards, as well as City codes.
  • Exhibits a professional image, behavior, appearance, and demeanor at all times.
  • Reviews and assists (if needed) set-ups of various rentals of the Civic Center.
  • Works to assure that every patron has a positive experience. Responds to internal and external requests without delay.
  • Maintains strict confidence in all maters, works well with fellow staff members, treats all individuals with dignity and respect.
  • Appears at work on time and as scheduled. Is responsible and reliable in attendance.
  • The most significant duties have been included in this description. This does not preclude the assignment of additional or developmental duties. The City reserves the right to modify this job description as needed to accurately reflect duties assigned.

Peripheral Duties
Performs a variety of miscellaneous duties including technical, custodial, and departmental errands.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

High School or equivalent.

An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Some college is preferred.


Special Requirements

  • Valid Driver's license or ability to obtain one.
  • Knowledge and ability to use basic computer software, ability to operate a cash register.
  • Ability to demonstrate professional public relations skills, and have effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Tools and Equipment Used
Lighting control console, sound control console, electronic equipment (speakers, theatre lights, dimmers, cabling), personal computer in a network system, calculator, copy and fax machines, telephone, charge card machine, a mobile or portable radio, drill driver, and various hand tools (screwdriver, ratchet, hammer, etc..).


Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit, climb and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hand or finger to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include closed vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee must be comfortable working at heights and in tight spaces. These areas are accessible via ladder only.

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud.
  • The work environment is subjected to various levels of lighting, including low blue lighting and bright stage lighting
  • The employee may have to walk over cabling and platforming, and various levels of stairs.
