Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Director of Safety and Security to join our team! Reporting to the Vice President of Amenities, the Director of Safety and Security will be responsible for the overall community to ensure a safe and secure environment including effective management of critical incidents and emergencies as well as oversight of Shell Point's in-house security team. This strategic role will not focus on OSHA administration and instead will be crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents, staff, and visitors. This position will develop and maintain emergency response plans including fire safety, evacuation procedures, and crisis management as well as corporate security and safety policies. This position will conduct regular security assessments and drills to identify vulnerabilities and mitigate them and work closely with local law enforcement and emergency services to ensure effective communication and coordination as needed. The ideal candidate will be highly collaborative and a skilled communicator and proficient in creating, communicating, and implementing corporate policy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. A bachelor's degree in criminal justice, security management, or related field is strongly preferred. Significant experience in security/public safety management, preferably within a campus, hospitality or resort environment is preferred.
