Library Aide
Landisville Middle School/Landisville Intermediate Center
26-27 School Year

 
Job Summary:  Support library patron services by assisting students, providing services, and maintaining materials, resources, and records.
Position Information:


  • Part-time with no benefits
  • Starting salary: $13.26 per hour
  • 184 days per year
  • 5 hours per day; 10:00am-3:00pm


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor students in the library who are doing independent research and reading.
  • Prepare library fine and overdue notices to distribute to students and submit letters to parents.
  • Oversee scheduling of book exchange and life skills classes, be available to take books to for book exchange if a librarian is not available.
  • Maintain library materials including stamping and dating materials, labeling, laminating, repairing and other tasks to keep materials organized and usable.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the patron database and the Library Management system of resources.
  • Assist with the annual library inventory as requested by the librarians.
  • Collect and report circulation generated monies including lost, paid or damaged books, overdue fines and other monies collected.
  • Recruit, schedule, coordinate, and provide training to student library aides.


Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or previous library experience is helpful.
  • High School Diploma Required
