Position purpose
Part-time laboratory technician position (20 hours per week) for its bachelor of science in Electronic Engineering Technologies - Avionics and Electronics concentrations. Both degree programs are housed within the engineering and engineering technology department at Vaughn.
Major Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
  1. Maintaining all existing equipment
  2. Setting up of lab experiments
  3. Purchasing of consumable parts
  4. Evaluate and recommend new equipment
  5. monitor and plan new lab experiments
  6. Assist the faculty in the teaching of all related courses, assist in the planning of the layout and development of existing and future labs.

Education and/or Experience Requirements
A Bachelor degree in the appropriate field(s) is required. Experience in electronic engineering technology with background in avionics are highly desirable.

  • Ability to understand and follow directions.

Work environment and physical functions
This position is located in a laboratory environment. Generally, an employee needs to be able to sit, stand, and navigate within the laboratory area. The office equipment either individually used or shared with a department is the responsibility of all employees.

The entry level compensation for this position is expected to be $20.00 per hour.
