Job description

Ivy Tech Evansville seeks a Part-time Lab Technician to support the Life Sciences department. This is an in person role based on the Evansville, IN campus.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Prepare labs as needed such as setting out equipment, models, and all necessary supplies.
  • Prepare materials as needed for labs.
  • Breakdown labs and perform necessary cleanup of materials.
  • Work with science instructors to maintain levels of supplies and up-to-date inventory of supplies.
  • Maintain MSDS data sheets and follow OSHA guidelines.
  • Track usage of lab consumables.
  • Unpack and check-in orders.
  • Clean lab equipment and models.
  • Assist lab manager or program chair with ordering.
  • Make copies as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Work Hours:
  • This position will be scheduled for 20 hours per week Monday - Friday. Specific hours may vary per term based on course schedule.

Hiring Range:
  • $15.00 per hour, 20 hours per week expected.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or GED. Must be able to think critically, communicate, and work autonomously.
Must have a safe environment mindset.
Must be familiar with science labs
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in Science.
