Job Description

Eurofins Drinking Water and Wastewater, LLC. South Bend is a potable water testing laboratory in the US, with over 70,000 square feet of laboratory space and over 100 qualified staff at our Indiana facility.  We serve more than 500 clients across the United States and foreign countries and are certified to perform analytical services in support of Safe Drinking Water Act compliance across the country.

Eurofins Drinking Water and Wastewater, LLC. South Bend, a nationally recognized laboratory, is searching for a Glassware Technician located in South Bend, IN.  This will be a full-time position, averaging between 35-40 hours per week with an agreed upon schedule. Additional hours may occasionally be needed, depending on sample receipts and work load, including evening or weekend work. 

Glassware Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Hand wash glassware types as needed as described in Standard Operating Procedure
  • Load/unload glassware washer
  • Load/unload drying oven appropriately
  • Pick up/deliver glassware to the appropriate lab areas
  • Perform routine inspections of glass for cracks and breaks
  • Remove damaged glass from use
  • Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner
  • Performs other duties, as directed
Qualifications

The ideal candidate would possess:

  • Professional demeanor 
  • Customer service experience and skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Must be detail oriented with the ability to speak, read, and write English fluently and have the ability to follow complex instructions
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and a willingness to meet daily commitments with a widely varying workload
  • An understanding of basic chemistry is not required but is a plus
  • Must be able to work independently and use your time effectively

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs routinely and safely and must be able to work standing for most of the day
  • Must be able to reach overhead to store some glassware in overhead storage cabinets
  • Must be familiar with MS Office programs such as Outlook, Explorer, Excel and Word.
  • Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Pay range: $18.00
