Job description

Built in 1893, The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee has been a hotel icon for over 130 years. As one of the best hotels in Milwaukee and the Midwest, we continue to celebrate a grand tradition of gracious service and impeccable style. The Pfister Hotel has received AAA Four Diamond hotel status for over 50 consecutive years. 

What you will be doing 

  • Prepare and cook food properly and quickly, following all required recipes in a timely manner. 

  • Store food correctly using proper rotation and dating, return all food requisitioned from the storeroom properly and securely. 

  • Perform and complete duties listed on checklists and prep sheets. 

  • Maintain sanitary standards before, during, and after service. 

  • Maintain high-quality levels of food production and presentation. 

  • Set up, maintain, and break down your station, ensuring advance prep is completed. 

  • Assist in controlling food usage and waste. 

Position Requirements 

  • Friendly, polite, and professional team member with a positive attitude. 

  • Ability to read and follow Micros (POS) orders. 

  • Basic knowledge of prep functions. 

  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and basic cooking procedures. 

  • Proper knife handling skills and techniques. 

  • Ability to stand for long periods and work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen. 

  • Ability to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. 

  • High school diploma or GED preferred. 

  • Strong English language comprehension required. 

  • Must adhere to the Local 122 Collective Bargaining Agreement regulations, with the option to obtain union membership after 90 days of employment.
