Legal Coordinator

Edwards Law | Atlanta, GA (Buckhead) Hybrid Part-Time to start (growing to Full-Time), Non-Exempt (Hourly), W-2 | $18.00-$20.00/hour starting rate, with advancement opportunity at 612 months for strong performers

About the Role

Edwards Law is a boutique Atlanta firm focused on residential real estate closings, estate planning, and probate. We're a small, precision-oriented practice every matter we handle has real consequences for real people, and we treat our work accordingly. We're hiring a Legal Coordinator to own the administrative and coordination layer across all three practice areas. This is not a single-function role: real responsibility, growing autonomy, and a clear path forward.

What You'll Do

Real Estate Closings

  • Coordinate pre-closing tasks: title, payoffs, HOA letters, lender communication
  • Prepare preliminary settlement statements for attorney review
  • Manage Qualia task lists and document organization across all active files
  • Handle post-closing tasks: recording confirmation, client surveys, review outreach

Estate Planning

  • Coordinate client intake: send questionnaires, collect documents, follow up on outstanding items
  • Prepare document execution packages and coordinate signing meetings
  • Manage client communications regarding scheduling, document status, and next steps

Probate

  • Track court deadlines and coordinate document filings
  • Prepare and send correspondence to heirs, financial institutions, and third parties
  • Monitor active probate files and flag outstanding items before they become problems
Schedule & Work Environment

Hybrid, based at our Buckhead office, MondayFriday, 9:00 AM5:00 PM. The role begins at approximately 20 hours/week, growing toward 3540 hours/week based on performance. In-office presence is required on days when closings are scheduled, and 23 days/week in-office is required during the initial training period.

Compensation & Benefits
  • $18.00-$20.00/hour starting rate, with advancement opportunity at 612 months for strong performers
  • Begins at approximately 20 hours/week, growing toward 3540 hours/week based on performance
  • Health insurance eligible after a 90-day introductory period, with firm contribution toward the monthly premium

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent professional experience in legal, real estate, title, estate planning, or financial services will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage competing priorities without daily supervision
  • Exceptional attention to detail this is a precision-based role
  • Successful completion of a post-offer background check (financial crimes, felonies, and crimes involving theft or deceit are disqualifying)

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in a law firm, title company, or real estate closing environment
  • Experience with Qualia, DocuSign, or Google Workspace
  • Active Georgia notary commission (the firm will sponsor credentialing for an otherwise strong candidate who doesn't have one)
