Job description

At Collaborative for Educational Services (CES), we are looking for dedicated bilingual individuals to serve as a critical link between families and educational support. As an Interpreter/Translator, you won’t just be translating words—you’ll be building trust, fostering understanding, and empowering students to succeed.

You will support our regional staff in direct communication with families who speak languages other than English, Spanish, or Portuguese. By providing cultural and linguistic bridge-building, you ensure every family feels heard, respected, and informed.

We are specifically looking for individuals with fluency in English and at least one of the following - Haitian Creole, Cape Verdean Creole and/or K’iche’ (Qiché). We have an immediate need for a bilingual Haitian Creole speaker.

What you’ll do

  • Facilitate Connection: Provide interpretation (in-person, via phone, or video) between families and staff.
  • Empower Families: Explain the nuances of the program to ensure students get the resources they need.
  • Coordinate: Respond promptly to scheduling needs and maintain a high standard of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with your supervisor to ensure the highest quality of support.
What You Bring
  • Language Expertise: Fluency in English and at least one of the following - Haitian Creole, Cape Verdean Creole and/or K’iche’ (Qiché).
  • Tech Savvy: Access to reliable technology that supports Google Meet and WhatsApp.
  • Cultural Competence: The ability to converse effectively with youth and adults from diverse backgrounds.
  • Reliability: Ability to pass a CORI screening and travel between site locations if required.
