They also perform procedures like dental implants and gum graft surgery. In private practice, periodontists often work independently or in partnership with other dental professionals to provide personalized periodontal care to patients.

What are some of the common challenges periodontists face in a private practice setting?

Periodontists in private practice often encounter challenges such as managing a diverse patient caseload with varying degrees of periodontal disease, balancing clinical work with administrative responsibilities, and keeping up-to-date with the latest treatment techniques and technologies. Building and maintaining strong referral relationships with general dentists is also essential, as it directly impacts patient flow.
