At By the Yard, we build premium outdoor furniture designed to last for decades. As a Showroom Consultant, you will be part of a team that helps customers feel at home outdoors by guiding them through our products, answering their questions, and delivering a great experience every step of the way.
This is not a commission-based role. We focus on relationships, not pressure. Many customers visit us after thinking about their purchase for years. They are looking for thoughtful support and guidance, not a sales pitch.
What You'll Do
  • Welcome customers to the showroom and help them choose products that fit their needs
  • Answer phone calls and emails with professionalism, clarity, and care
  • Share product knowledge and help customers feel confident about their choices
  • Process quotes and orders, enter accurate customer information into our systems
  • Keep the showroom clean, organized, and aligned with brand standards
  • Support events, fairs, and trade shows as needed
  • Assist with tasks that keep the team running smoothly, including shipping support and general showroom maintenance

Requirements
What You'll Bring
  • One to three years of experience in retail, hospitality, or customer service
  • Clear, friendly communication skills in person and over the phone
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks with care
  • A proactive approach and a willingness to support your team wherever needed
  • Familiarity with basic technology, including Microsoft Office
  • Availability to work a retail schedule that includes evenings and Saturdays
  • High school diploma or equivalent
