Job Overview: We are seeking responsible and reliable van drivers to transport special needs students to and from school. As a van driver, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students while providing exceptional customer service.
Working Conditions:
Full time 35 hours weekly
Part Time 20-25 hours weekly
Summer hours required
Full time drivers are eligible for Benefit package including paid sick days, holidays, personal time and vacation time
Hourly rate range of
Full,Time $20.00 per hour
Part Time $18.00 per hour
Major Responsibilities:
  • Safely transport special needs students to and from school
  • Observe CT motor vehicle laws and regulations
  • Maintain accurate records of daily routes, student attendance, and vehicle maintenance
  • Regular and consistent attendance
  • Must be able to secure students in a seat belt or harness
  • Must be able to safely enter and disembark a van multiple times during the day
  • Must be able to move around the van to help students on an off the van
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Valid CT license with V endorsement or P & S endorsement.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Have an acceptable driving record
  • Pass a criminal record background check

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviors and situations
  • Physical ability to assist students with mobility needs
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new transportation procedures and technology
