Job description

Position Available: Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer - Flint Event Team at Dort Financial Event Center
Job Summary:
The Event Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of event venues, staff, performers, and attendees. Duties include monitoring crowds, controlling access points, preventing disturbances, and responding to incidents in a professional and effective manner.
Part Time Security Officers are scheduled weekly, working various events that DM Burr is covering throughout the week (majority of hours will be on 2nd shift and on weekends), and work between 25-30 hours. Security Officers will cover a wide range of events throughout the week with the majority being at Dort Financial Event Center working such events as hockey games, concerts, or basketball games.
Can be assigned to multiple locations as needed throughout Genesee County to work security at various events.
Wage: $16.00/hour

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Monitor event entrances and exits to control access and verify tickets, credentials, or passes.
  • Conduct bag checks or screenings as required.
  • Patrol event venues and surrounding areas to identify and deter suspicious or disruptive behavior.
  • Provide crowd management to maintain orderly lines, prevent overcrowding, and ensure compliance with venue rules.
  • Assist in the safe evacuation of attendees in case of emergency.
  • Respond quickly and professionally to disturbances, altercations, medical emergencies, or other incidents.
  • Liaise with event staff, supervisors, law enforcement, or emergency services as needed.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while providing directions, answering questions, and assisting attendees.
  • Complete clear and accurate reports on incidents, observations, and activities.
  • Remain vigilant and visible throughout the event to deter problems.
  • Follow all company, client, and venue policies and procedures.

Position Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous security, event staff, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in large crowds or stressful situations.
  • Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Good observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Physically able to stand or walk for long periods and respond quickly to emergencies.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • You must pass a background check and any required licensing or training.
  • Valid driver's license and clear driving record.
