Financial Controller - (ONSITE)

Full-Time | Onsite | Auburn Hills, MI | M-F 7:30am-4:30pm

HERCO is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to oversee all accounting and financial operations for our growing project-based manufacturing organization. This role is responsible for financial reporting, cash flow management, WIP tracking, progressive invoicing, percentage-of-completion accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and managing the accounting team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage financial reporting, general ledger, and month-end/year-end close.
  • Monitor project profitability, WIP schedules, and revenue recognition.
  • Oversee progressive invoicing, overbillings, and underbillings.
  • Manage cash flow, AR, working capital, and budgeting processes.
  • Support strategic planning through financial analysis and forecasting.
  • Maintain GAAP compliance and strong internal controls.
  • Supervise and develop accounting staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA preferred.
  • 7-10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
  • Experience with WIP accounting, project accounting, and progressive billing.
  • ERP experience (SAP B1 preferred).
  • Strong Excel, analytical, and leadership skills.

Salary: $115,000+ Pay will be competitive and commensurate with level of experience.
