Job description

Family Medicine Physician with Surgical Obstetrics Expertise

Our Organization - Franklin Hospital | Farmington, Maine

We are looking for a full-time or part-time Board Certified/Board Eligible Family Medicine Physician with training in Surgical Obstetrics to join our dedicated team, which includes three physicians and one Certified Nurse Midwife.

This role provides a chance to deliver comprehensive obstetrical care in a collaborative rural environment. Responsibilities include prenatal care, labor and delivery, vaginal births, Cesarean sections, postpartum care, and newborn care. Depending on individual interests and qualifications, candidates may choose to focus solely on obstetrics or integrate it with primary care. Call responsibilities are shared at a ratio of approximately 1:4.

As a Level I Maternal Center and the sole inpatient facility in Franklin County, we deliver around 250 babies each year. This position allows for the development of meaningful patient relationships while leveraging the resources available through our organization. Physicians benefit from robust clinical support, a fully integrated Epic EMR system, and access to subspecialists in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, and Urogynecology.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical institution
  • Completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program
  • Fellowship training in Surgical Obstetrics with proficiency in Cesarean delivery
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in Maine
