Job description

Part-Time Payroll Clerk

We are currently seeking a part-time Payroll Clerk to support payroll operations, including processing payroll, reviewing electronic timecards, handling adjustment requests, performing audits and reconciliations, calculating overtime, ensuring tax law compliance, generating reports, and maintaining accurate benefit accrual records for full-time and part-time employees. There may be additional tasks related to account payable.

Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll in accordance with established timelines and procedures
  • Review employee time and attendance records for accuracy and completeness
  • Perform overtime calculations and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws
  • Update and adjust employee accrual balances using the ADP historical edit panel
  • Input vacation requests and accrual adjustments into the timekeeping system
  • Review and process new hire, change, and termination forms received from Human Resources
  • Prepare and process documents to record payroll-related transactions
  • Perform audits and reconciliations of payroll data and accrual balances
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and accruals
  • Prepare off-cycle check requests as needed for corrections or late vacation entries
  • Review and reconcile payroll run reports prior to payroll confirmation
  • Generate payroll summary reports

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Computer literacy and data entry skills (minimum 25 WPM)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • ADP experience preferred

MUST HAVE: Payroll experience (ADP experience is preferred), Excel expertise is very important.
