*attend orientation to sub in the District

Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the substitute teacher will have the primary responsibility of providing the students with a relevant education in the absence of the regular teacher. Substitute teachers will guide students in attaining the knowledge and skills necessary for success during their educational career as well as preparing the students to become college and career ready after graduation. Substitute teachers will help students learn the skills and attitudes necessary to achieve a responsible, productive, and fulfilling life in our changing world.
Compensation/Pay Range:
Non-Certified Instructional Substitutes: $140/day for days 1-29, $150/day for days 30-59, $160/day for days 60 and over.
Certified Instructional Substitutes: $165/day for days 1-29, $175/day for days 30-59, $185/day for days 60 and over.
If working for 15 or more days consecutively for the same instructional staff member, rate will be $225/day.

Qualifications Profile
  • Certification: NYS Teacher certification preferred.

Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
