History:

Martin County Hospital District (MCHD) was organized in 1967 and has boundaries coterminous with Martin County, Texas. It is located in the heart of West Texas. Opened in 1949, the hospital was originally located near downtown Stanton. This facility served the community well for many years but was replaced with a state of the art 18 bed facility in 2012. The new facility is located on I20 and has been designated as a Critical Access Hospital.


Position Summary

The Human Resources Assistant performs a variety of clerical, administrative, and data entry duties in support of the Human Resources Department. Responsibilities include maintaining employee files and records, processing HR-related paperwork and transactions, tracking employee data, scheduling interviews and orientations, assisting with onboarding activities, and providing general administrative support. This position assists with maintaining accurate HR databases, compiling reports, monitoring compliance-related documentation, and responding to routine employee inquiries while ensuring confidentiality of employee information. The position works under direct supervision and refers complex issues to higher-level HR staff. This position reports directly to the Human Resources Director.     


Requirements

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.     


Experience:

One (1) year of experience in a Human Resources-related field preferred.

Hospital Human Resources experience preferred.

Experience with HRIS and timekeeping systems preferred.

Typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.

Possesses beginning to working knowledge of human resources functions and practices.
