Join Us as a Seasonal/Temporary Hospital Collections Specialist!

3-4 Months, Full or Part Time onsite in Auburn, MA

The Hospital Collections Specialist is responsible for timely follow-up and collection of behavioral health and chemical dependency claims for Inpatient and Outpatient levels of care to ensure timely receipt of payment including but not limited to third party payer receivables.

Hospital Collection Specialist Job Responsibilities

  • Reviewing Unpaid Claims
  • Contacts Insurance companies to follow up on Denials
  • Billing and follow-up of assigned Insurance accounts
  • Reviews EOB’s and resolves billing and payment discrepancies
  • Ensure claim rejections are identified, and the proper action is completed to ensure timely billing.
  • Comfortable using a clearinghouse, preference given to familiarity with Waystar
  • Comfortable and familiar utilizing payor portals
  • Precipitation in weekly AR reviews

Hospital Collection Specialist will have the following:

  • Must be knowledgeable on Massachusetts insurances as well as commercially insured in state and out of state insurances, Medicaid, and Managed Care insurance.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office and other computer software products and/or grasp technology quickly.
  • Sufficient typing and computer skills.
  • Comfortable and knowledgeable with psychiatric patients.
  • Previous Collection Specialist experience required; minimally 2 years.

Pay Range

Compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience.
