Job description

The Administrative Assistant to the Director of Multi-Language Program (Director of MLP) performs functions that have broad organizational implications. The position requires coordination with others both within and outside the organization, and a demonstrated ability to perform standard organizational tasks.

In addition to understanding BYU-Pathway Worldwide, the assistant must understand the organization of the Church, BYU-Idaho, Ensign College, and the Church Educational System (CES).

The Administrative Assistant to the Director of MLP is expected to keep up with the fast pace of a professional environment and frequently changing schedules. Being teachable, perceptive, and proficient at learning is essential to effectively manage the competing demands and priorities associated with this position.

The Administrative Assistant to the Director of MLP holds a position of high visibility and often works with documents and information that are confidential, sensitive, and of significant importance to BYU-Pathway Worldwide.

This position is critical in supporting BYU-Pathway Worldwide and the Director of MLP as they strive to fulfill the institution's mission to develop disciples of Jesus Christ who are leaders in their homes, the Church, and their communities. The Administrative Assistant must represent the organization in a manner that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the BYU-Pathway Worldwide Defining Characteristics, allowing senior leaders to focus their time and energy on strategic priorities and goals.

Important: This part-time position typically works Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (maximum 20 hours per week). This is a hybrid position.

By applying for this position, you are indicating that you are currently authorized to work in the United States as a student, without sponsorship, are willing to reside and perform the work in Utah and are willing to work from the BYU-Pathway Worldwide headquarters in Salt Lake City 1-3 days per week.

Education

Individuals must be enrolled as degree/certificate-seeking matriculated students at BYU-Idaho, Ensign College, or BYU-Pathway Worldwide, or be taking PathwayConnect for the first time.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint).

High level of proficiency, both spoken and written, in Spanish and English across academic, professional, and other communication settings.

Portuguese proficiency, although not required, will be well regarded.

Maintain a professional public image for BYU-Pathway Worldwide.

Complete special projects including (but not limited to): attending all assigned MLP subcommittee meetings, gathering information for presentations, relaying assignments, and editing and drafting reports.

Draft high-profile, professional correspondence and communications.

Perform routine office duties such as typing, filing, ordering supplies, entering data, drafting correspondence, running errands, making travel arrangements, and scheduling rooms and appointments.

May manage the Director of MLP's calendar and schedule meetings.

Prepare meeting agendas and minutes.

Manage student workers' schedules and provide training as needed.

Assist the Director of MLP with travel coordination and expense reconciliation.
