Job Title: Childcare Center Director  
Location: Kiddie Academy of Laurel, MD 
Job Types: Full-Time Permanent + Benefits     
 
Job Summary: 
  • A Childcare Director will oversee multiple childcare centers within a specific region, ensuring that each center maintains high standards of education, safety, and compliance. This role involves strategic planning, staff supervision, curriculum oversight, and community engagement. You will also support the current staff, manage scheduling and office supplies, bring positive communication to the team, and implement new strategies to grow and expand our outreach. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a deep understanding of child development and education, and experience managing staff. 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Director needed to plan and supervise all aspects of the program.
  • Operating excellent programs.
  • Deliver an accredited before and after-school curriculum based on the needs of the program.
  • Ensure that we are always in compliance with county and state regulations, as well as with the Department of Education.
  • Manage staff expectations and handle any issues, including scheduling and interpersonal conflicts that may arise.
  • Review and approve all lesson plans, printed materials, bulletin announcements, and newsletters. 
  • Plan extra-curricular activities; including in-house entertainment. 
 
Qualifications:
  • Supervisory experience (1-3 years managing staff in a childcare setting and Business Management experience preferred).
  • Superior administrative and supervisory skills with experience preferably in a consumer-driven environment.
  • Work with the Senior Regional and Executive Director to constantly improve the program by communicating issues and working on better ways of operating.
  • Attend weekly/monthly leadership meetings and Executive staff meetings, via google meets, and in person when need be. 
  • Recruiting, supervising, professionally developing, and training a highly qualified staff to deliver consistent, high-quality service at all sites.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a team. 
  • Deep understanding of childcare, child development, and education.
