Job description

Position:Health & Safety Instructor
Employment: Part-time Weekends (8 - 16 Hours/Week)
Location: Calgary, AB

Salary: $31.00 - 36.00 per hour, DOE

This part-time hourly-based position will be delivering the Fall Protection course at our Calgary Training Centre, as well as other courses potentially including mobile equipment safety courses and more. The role reports to the Manager, Instructor-Led Training and working hours will be Saturdays (8am-4pm), some Sundays and the occasional weekday, if available.


As a Health & Safety Instructor your key responsibilities are:

  • Delivering engaging and informative Fall Protection training to job seekers, the general public and new and current members of the construction industry
  • Evaluating participants through practical skills and written evaluation
  • Potentially delivering other courses such as Forklift Training, Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) Training and Confined Space Entry.
  • Organizing, filing and submitting digital and hard copy participant records following training
  • Participating in team meetings and instructor development workshops


The right candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • 3+ years' experience delivering safety training, with preference for Fall Protection delivery
  • Forklift, Elevated Work Platform and Confined Space Entry and Rescue experience an asset
  • Background in construction, oil and gas management and/or occupational health & safety preferred
  • Strong presentation and adult-engagement skills
  • Responsible self-starter who can work independently, while also contributing to the instructor team
  • Valid Alberta Driver Licence - occasional travel by car for work
  • Reside and able to legally work in Canada
